A Scripture and a Prayer: “Honoring God”

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)

Prayer:

Lord, You have made it clear throughout the Bible that when we honor you, especially in our tithes and offerings, that You will bless us. This is seen especially through the prophet Malachi saying, “‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.’” Therefore, Lord, help us to be obedient to Your word, because Your promises are both yeah and amen in Christ Jesus even though things are hard, gas it high, and inflation even higher. Plus, You promised to rebuke and remove the enemy from devouring what You have so graciously given. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Holy Spirit Power”

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Prayer:

Lord, we come today praying to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, guiding us to those who are seeking hope and answers. Equip us with the words to say, the love to share, and the wisdom to help others find You. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may be bold witnesses for You so that we can make a difference in our communitas and the world for Christ. Grant us the courage to speak Your name when it feels uncomfortable, to stand for what is right and true, and let our lives reflect Your grace and mercy to those around us. May our actions speak so loudly that others are drawn to You through us. And may the power of the Holy Spirit be evident in our lives as I seek to serve You and bring glory to Your name. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Invitation”

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

Prayer:

Lord, we ask that you open our hearts as we call out to You, and open our ears to hear Your truth, and show us those great and unsearchable things that only You know and that we need to hear and understand. And thank You for Your precious promises that will never fail, because You are faithful and true to Your Word. And knowing that, we trust that our prayer will be answered that as we seek You, we will find You, and as we knock on Your heavenly door in this time of prayer that You will answer. Therefore, we pray for clarity in the midst of all the chaos, and that light will shine upon the darkness of fear and doubt that Satan wishes to sow in our lives. And so, we thank You and give to You all praise, glory, and honor in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Give Praise Where Due”

“From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, who dwells on high.” (Psalm 113:3-5)

Prayer:

Dear Lord, may we always praise Your name throughout the day. And may Your glory and goodness be proclaimed throughout the earth, and through our praise may all people come to know and worship You. Help us to honor You in everything we do, and may we always give You the glory, praise, and adoration You deserve. Thank you for Your love and faithfulness, and for the many blessings You have given. And may this all be done in the name of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Filled to Fullness”

“Know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:19)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you first and foremost for coming to this earth to die for our sins, and the forgiveness it brings. And thank you for rising from the dead revealing the fullness of Your love for us with heaven as our future home with You. But even more, and that is through Your death and resurrection You have shown us the way to live life to the fullest making us overcomers with You. Because while Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy, You came that we may have life and that more abundantly. And so, thank you Jesus from the very heart and soul of our being. AMEN

A Scripture and a. Prayer: “A Good Confession”

“Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, we confess You before men and declare that You are our Savior and Lord with the full assurance that when we do, You will confess us before our Heavenly Father. And we ask that You continue to give us the courage and boldness to confess You always and in every area of our lives. Help us to be unashamed of the Gospel, the good news of Your love shown to us through Your death upon the cross, and may we stand firm upon this foundational truth for our lives. And may we live boldly for you with this assurance firmly enshrined in our hearts that You are ever presence and Your grace will see us through. And this we ask in Your wonderful and glorious name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Incredible Love”

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

Prayer:

Lord, so often we feel like we’re in no way worthy or deserving of Your attention and love. Yet, You have lifted us up out of the miry clay, out of the pit of despair and hopelessness and have chosen to love us with an everlasting love. A love that will last from this time and life into eternity. Such a love is simply beyond our understanding. Therefore, we thank You from the very soul of our being for Your incredible and everlasting love, a love that drew us away from our sins and into Your marvelous presence. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Faith For Healing”

“Two blind men followed him, crying aloud, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David’ … and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then he touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith be it done to you.’” (Matthew 9:27-29)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come acknowledging that You are a merciful God. And like the two blind men, we too cry out for Your mercy and grace. Have mercy on us and forgive us of our sins. Rekindle within us a faith that moves mountains and a belief that nothing is impossible for You. Open our spiritual eyes to see beyond our present circumstances and challenges into the realm of unlimited possibilities You provide. Help us have unswerving faith that never falters and cultivate within us faith in Your greater plan for our lives and Your kingdom. And help us trust in all of Your promises, and that they are yes and amen through Jesus Christ our Lord. And we ask this fully believing in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Great Love Revealed”

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8)

Prayer:

Lord, You revealed Your wonderful and unconditional love when You sent Your Son, Jesus, to take our place and die the death we deserve for our sins. May we never take such a love for granted seeing not only how much You gave in giving Your Son, but how much Jesus Himself went through, giving His life upon the cross for us. But now, even more, help us find within ourselves that same unconditional love to share with others as You have commanded, in how we are to love You with the whole of who we are, but also to love others in that same way. So, I thank You Lord for the great love You have revealed not only to us, but to this world. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Finding Contentment”

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound … I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:12-13)

Prayer:

Lord, help us to learn to be content no matter what. Jesus, please help and give us the strength and courage to put away all our worries and anxieties. Help us take to heart Your words of advice not to worry about tomorrow, because in truth, tomorrow is going to come with all of its challenges, difficulties, and blessings whether we want it or not. So, help us to be content with what You have given us today, knowing that You are the one who strengthens us in every and all circumstances. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Senses to Repentance”

“They might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.” (Matthew 13:15)

Prayer:

Lord, we pray that you would open our spiritual senses so that we can see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and understand in our hearts Your desire to transform, renew, and restore our lives and our relationship with You. Soften our hearts and break down every barrier that has we have built in our hearts that keep us from You, and that keeps us from being receptive to Your word. And may we truly thirst for more of You and Your grace for our lives. And we ask this in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Don’t Be Afraid”

“I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you.” (Genesis 26:24)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come with grateful hearts being reminded of Your unwavering presence and faithfulness. Please speak to us as You spoke to Isaac calming our fears and building up our faith saying, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” Help us to cling to the promise of your continual presence in this world filled with such uncertainty and anxiety. Please quite our hearts and help us to move forward by faith with confidence that You will never leave us nor forsake us. Guide us, therefore, and protect us during these uncertain times. And this we pray in Jesus’s mighty name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “The Narrow Gate and Way”

“For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Prayer:

Lord, we begin by asking that You would help us recognize the broad path of this world, and it’s promise of ease and comfort, if only we would compromise our faith in You. Help us also discern the wide road’s distractions and desires that take us away from the truth of Your word. Therefore, Lord, we ask and seek the Holy Spirit’s presence to help enlighten our minds and hearts through the truth of Your word to help guide our steps as we navigate this narrow path You’ve placed us upon, so that we don’t turn to the right or left and miss the fullness of Your grace and mercy towards us so that we can pursue Your holiness and righteousness. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Victory in Jesus”

“The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord, for the victory that You have given us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us now Lord to live in this victory, a victory that you already won upon the cross for our sins and rose from the grave three days later to obliterate the power of sin and death, transforming our despair into hope, and changing our weakness into strength. Help us to trust in You and in Your power and strength to overcome the devil and every obstacle he puts in our way. And thank you Lord for the grace that makes this victory possible. AMEN

August 21, 2025

A Scripture and a Prayer: “The Smartest Thing”

“But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29)

Prayer:

Jesus, You made it clear how we need to get our priorities in line with Yours when You said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” Therefore, may we seek you first in whatever we do, that is, with the whole of our being, because Your promise is that when we do, then we’ll find You, and hence Your will and way for our lives. Help us, therefore, to always keep you first in our thoughts, and first in our hearts, and to reject allowing the world to conform us into its image, but instead, transform us into Your image and according to Your likeness Lord Jesus. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Gift of the Holy Spirit”

“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” (John 4:10)

Prayer:

Lord, help us realize the fullness of this gift You have offered. Help us not to allow the distractions of this world to hide this wonderful treasure. But even more, may we never think of this gift of the Holy Spirit in casual terms, thinking that we can take it or leave it. Instead, let us recognize it as essential giving us Your living waters to quench our thirsty souls. Help us to break away from the dryness of this world that leave us parched and wanting something else, something more, that will never satisfy. Instead, may our hearts yearn for Your presence as the deer pants for the water brook. And let our hearts yearn for the living water of Your peace, joy, and hope. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Challenge”

“How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” (1 Kings 18:21)

Prayer:

Lord, how long will we teeter-totter in our faith? How long will we be pulled in two different directions? If the Lord God is truly Lord over our lives, then it is He that we should be following, and not the gods of this world, that is, pleasure, power, possessions, and religion. Lord, help us to make a choice and take up God’s challenge to follow Him and not the world, or the god of this world, Satan. May we no longer doubt nor be distracted, but rather may we be followers, fully and completely devoted to You and to You alone. Help us, therefore, to put away these false gods and pick up our crosses and follow. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

August 13, 2025

A Scripture and a Prayer: “Taste and Trust”

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8)

Prayer:

Lord, we pray for the grace and faith to both taste and see Your goodness being work out in out in our trails and difficulties. It is so easy to forget Your wonders and how You have met us in the worst of times in order to give us the best of what You have for us. Bring back to our remembrance these wonders and miracles, where we have and will continue to trust in Your goodness and grace. Help us to surrender and cast upon You all our worries and anxieties, and to lean upon You wholeheartedly knowing that Your plans and purposes will always work out to our good. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN

Weekend’s Scripture and a Prayer: “Beginnings of Knowledge”

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” (Proverbs 1:7)

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for convicting us of sin, righteousness and the judgment to come, and that by faith in Jesus, You have brought us into Your kingdom. Therefore, please give unto us Your discernment so that we can see the difference between worldly wisdom and Your divine insight. Further, help us confess our sin of relying on our own understanding and knowledge, rather than seeking Your wisdom and guidance instead. And may our reverential fear of You and Your word continue to permeate our conscience guiding us in the paths of righteousness. And we ask this in Jesus’s name.

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Divine Power”

“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” (2 Peter 1:3)

Prayer:

Lord, I thank you for being our provision, being everything we need to live for You both in our physical life (“life”) and spiritual life (“godliness). And by Your power and knowledge we have been called, chosen, redeemed, accepted, and equipped to live a godly life. But to live such a life we completely and utterly depend upon Your sufficiency and grace. And help us never to take for granted Your wonderous provision that allows us to live an abundant life here on earth, and then in heaven when this life is over. And this I ask in Jesus’s name.
