Thought for Today: “Wisdom Lived Out”

Wisdom is revealed through our actions, not in the words we say.

Jesus said, “Wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” (Matthew 11:19b)

In other words, actions speak louder than words.

When I read quotes from great authors, the wisdom they convey is phenomenal. But when their words are examined alongside their lives, those lives reveal that they were a mess, with many living lives of loneliness, despair, and depression.

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise.” (Ephesians 5:15)

Crafting wise words is therefore not the answer; rather, it’s living life by faith in Jesus Christ, in whom all wisdom is found.

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
