Thought For Today: “The Richest Land in the World”

The richest piece of property in the world isn’t the diamond mines of South Africa, nor is it the oil fields of the Middle East. The richest piece of property in the world is a small parcel of land called Calvary.

It was here that God demonstrated His love for humanity, for while we were still His enemies, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us so that we could receive the greatest gift ever, the forgiveness of sin and eternity in heaven (Romans 5:8).

To own a piece of that property, all we have to do is believe in what Jesus did for us, taking our sins upon Himself and dying in our place.

But this leads us to an even greater land of great riches, namely heaven.

Heaven is the place where the suffering we endure here on earth will be eradicated. It’s a place many have called the land of no-mores, where there will be no more pain, sorrow, suffering, tears, hunger, thirst, night, or darkness.

But there’s another ‘no-more’ that wraps it all up. There is no longer the curse of sin or the devastation that results from it. Instead, heaven is the place where we’ll get a new body, a custom-built house, and the most fantastic foods to eat. It’s a perfect place, a place where we will be in the presence of God forever.

And entrance into Heaven is through that small plot of land in Israel, Calvary.
