Today’s Thought: “The Longing of the Human Heart”

Heaven is the place where the human heart longs to be. It is the place where the suffering we endure here on earth will be eradicated. It is the land of no-mores, where there will be no more pain, sorrow, suffering, tears, hunger, thirst, night, or darkness.

“They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:16-17)

But there is one more “no more” that wraps it all up.

“And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it.” (Revelation 22:3)

And so, in heaven, there is no longer the curse of sin or the devastation it causes.

Instead, heaven is the place where we’ll receive our new bodies, along with custom-built houses and the most fantastic foods to eat. It’s a perfect place, a place of no-mores, a place of awesome worship, and a place where we will be in the presence of God forever.
