Regaining Hope

Thought for Today: “Regaining Hope”

Besides air, water, and food, hope is a necessity of life. We must have hope. We cannot live without it. Hope is the last to die; it’s the last emotion within us. Therefore, it is essential to maintain hope even when everything around us seems hopeless.

Society is suffering from a loss of hope. Most people don’t really hope for the best; instead, they just hope the worst won’t happen. Or worse, they feel they’re at the end of their rope, struggling with depression, despair, and discouragement.

Without hope, the spirit dies within. Solomon says that hope deferred makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12).

The hope we need is something only the Lord can provide through the Holy Spirit’s work within us.

Paul said, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

To regain lost hope, let’s ask the Holy Spirit to renew and revive our hearts and spirits, granting us a brand-new beginning.
