Thought For Today: “Refuse Compromise; Be Set Free”

The only way to freedom is to be completely removed from the land of bondage.

It was such a freedom that was sought by the children of Israel when they were slaves in the land of Egypt.

And so, God sent Moses to deliver His people from their bondage. But Pharoah didn’t want to set them free, only give them the illusion of freedom.

This is brought out through Pharaoh’s repeated attempts for Moses to compromise. But Moses refused realizing the blessings and deliverance that waits when we believe God’s word of promise.

You see, Moses knew such freedom, and by faith was able to receive it in his own life.

The writer of Hebrews states, “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” (Hebrews 11:24-26)

And it is such faith we need for our own lives.

So, let’s celebrate this July 4th determined not to compromise our faith to the dictates of this sin filled and sinful world, and let’s truly be set free.
