A Scripture and a Prayer: “Power Belongs to God”

“God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy.” (Psalm 62:11-12)

Prayer: God Said It Twice

Lord, by repeating that all power and mercy belong to You, You are confirming Your awesome power and unconditional love to Your children. You are sovereign above everything, and creation bows before Your rule. You, Lord, have all the power and strength to bring about Your will and way in this world and in our lives. Therefore, it is to You that we surrender our lives. Help us now in our weaknesses and give us Your wisdom to learn how to live in this world for You. And give us the strength and courage to live in this world that is in desperate need of Your mercy and grace. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
