Thought For Today: “Judgment Begins With Us”

There will come a time when we’ll have to decide just whose side we’re on, because in our world we’re caught between a rock and a hard place.

On the one side we have this world we live in purporting their various truths, along with our society that makes laws based upon these perceived truths. On the other side we have the Kingdom of God and God’s truth and the laws He has given man to live by.

One day they’re going to clash, which is the case in our country today. If we obey God’s word and law, then we’re going to have to disobey some of the laws of the land. This reality is staring us straight in the face.

But in saying that, what we need to watch out for is that we’re standing on God’s word, and not anything else or what others, and even ourselves, want to add to it.

So, what are we going to do? God is watching!

“Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:16-17)

“For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17)
