A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Word is Good”

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word.” (Psalm 119:67)

Prayer:

Lord, it’s Your word that keeps us from stumbling and falling as we walk through this life, especially through the trial and tribulations that come our way. Prior to becoming followers of You through faith in Jesus Christ, we not only had good times, but we also suffered physically, emotionally, and spiritually because of our sin. Therefore, thank you for Your wonderful grace and mercy that You extended our direction, and I especially thank you for Your word, for it reveals our sins and shows the way out through confession and repentance. Help us Lord to continue to plumb the depths of Your word, so that we can continue to confront all that is not pleasing in Your sight. And this I ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN
