A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Will Over Our Own”

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38)

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, what a revelation You have given. Even though You are God, You came to do the will of the Father. You aligned Yourself to the Father’s wishes, and by that You destroyed the works of Satan, and put an end sin and death from our lives. Lord, I find it also revealing that You said that Your will and Your way are not always the same as ours. You said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways … For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) Therefore, Lord, help us align our thoughts, hearts, emotions, and desires with You. In the end may this be our prayer, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
