Thought for Today: “God’s Trophy Case”

A Trophy Case is used to display what is most valuable. As I was growing up, I would see these trophy cases in the schools I attended. They would contain the various trophies and awards that were won by those who represented the school.

In this world, we are what God displays to the world as being what is most valuable to Him.

Jesus said of our value to God, “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?” (Luke 12:24)

In fact, Jesus tells us just how much God values us saying, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

And then Jesus showed us our value there upon the cross, as He took our place and died the death that we deserve so that we could be with Him forever.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

So you are of great value to God, so live as His trophy, and no longer what the world tosses away.
