Thought For Today: “God’s Goodness”

In church there is a popular responsive saying. It starts when the pastor says, “God is good all the time,” and the congregation’s reply is, “And all the time God is good.”

But do we believe it? Sometimes we find ourselves questioning God’s goodness because we don’t see it when we’re struggling.

But we are to be a people that walk by faith, and faith sees when our eyes fail.

The writer of Hebrews tells us about this faith saying, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

God has promised us good based solely on His goodness, and God is good. He has always been good, and He will always be good.

It says in Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
