Forgetting God

Don’t Forget God While Living Life

If we just let life happen, we could miss out on eternity. Knowing the end could come at any time, Jesus gave this piece of advice.

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.” (Luke 21:34 NKJV)

We live in an age where knowledge has increased, but at the same time it’s getting harder for people to find God, to live for Him, and to hear His word for their lives.

Is there a correlation? Jesus says yes there is.

It’s hard to live for the Lord when we have so much going on. Jesus said this is dangerous, telling us not to allow the cares of this world to overshadow the things of God.

Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24 NKJV)

If your focus is on anything other than God, then you run the risk of missing out on an eternity with God, or at the least, you’ll miss out on the rewards waiting in heaven.

The Apostle Paul said, “If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:15 NKJV)

Yes it’s important to work, but not at the expense of forgetting God.

Jesus said, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36 NKJV)

With everything you do let it be done heartily as unto the Lord, and not man, always being aware that it’s from the Lord you’ll receive your inheritance, not man, Colossians 3:23.

Seek after God. Let Him be more important than everything else.
