Thought for Today: “Faith: Wanted Alive Not Dead”
I remember those old westerns where you would see the wanted posters. It would have the person’s picture on it, and it said, “Wanted: Dead or Alive.
But when it comes to our faith in Jesus, God puts up the same poster with our pictures attached. But the verbiage is something different. What the Lord writes is “Wanted, “Alive not Dead.
The Lord wants our faith to be active and alive, not a faith that is dead and unresponsive to the situations of others.
You see, faith that is active is alive, but faith that does nothing is dead
The Apostle James puts it like this. “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:15-17)
