A Scripture and a Prayer: “Beyond Our Troubles”

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:17)

Prayer:

Oh, Heavenly Father, how we wish we understood what is going on, not only in our lives, but also in the lives of those who are suffering today. But also, what we know for sure is that You know, and that Your word is true, and that while we suffer afflictions and difficulties, these are inevitable in this world filled with evil and sin. Yet, You, Lord Jesus said this is what we can expect, but we can also expect Your peace because of what You did upon the cross and how You overcame the power this world wants to exert upon us. Help us Lord look at these sufferings through Your eternal perceptive, and how they are producing in us your eternal glory, as we look forward to Your unlimited joy and peace. And this I ask, believing, in Jesus’s name. AMEN
