A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Soul Wait”
Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
Prayer:
Lord, it is the area of the soul that we have the greatest difficulty waiting, because the soul is the place of our emotions and desires. While in our minds and spirits, we know to wait for You, knowing You have it all under control and have a plan for us, as You have said how Your thoughts are always towards us to bring us a future and a hope. But our emotions and desires always seem to get in the way. We tend to allow the circumstances and situations we face throughout the day to dictate our actions, rather than allowing You to work Your plans and purposes within us. Therefore, please help our souls, our emotions and desires to wait for You, and do not allow our feelings to get in the way of the Holy Spirit’s work. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
