Thought For Today: “Judgment Begins with Us”

There will come a time when we’ll have to decide whose side we’re on, because in our world, we’re caught between a rock and a hard place.

On the one hand, we have this world we live in, which purports various truths, along with our society, which makes laws based on these perceived truths. On the other side, we have the Kingdom of God, God’s truth, and the laws He has given man to live by.

One day they’re going to clash, as they do today. If we obey God’s word and law, we’re going to have to disobey some of the laws of the land. This reality is staring us straight in the face.

But in saying that, what we need to watch out for is that we’re standing on God’s word, not on anything else or on what others, and even ourselves, want to add to it.

So, what are we going to do? God is watching!

“Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:16-17)
