Refuse Compromise; Be Set Free

Thought For Today: “Refuse Compromise; Be Set Free”

The only way to freedom is to be completely removed from the land of bondage. This was the freedom sought by the children of Israel when they were slaves in the land of Egypt.

So God sent Moses to deliver His people from their bondage. But Pharaoh didn’t want to set them free; he only wanted to give them an illusion of freedom.

This is evident in Pharaoh’s repeated attempts to get Moses to compromise. But Moses refused, recognizing the blessings and deliverance that await us when we believe God’s word of promise.

Moses knew such freedom and, by faith, received it in his life.

The writer of Hebrews states, “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” (Hebrews 11:24-26)

And it is such faith that we need in our own lives.

So, let’s celebrate this July 4th, determined not to compromise our faith to the dictates of this sinful world, and let’s truly be set free.
