Thought for Today: “God Does Hear”
Have you reached this point as King David when He cried out to God?
“Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled… My soul also is greatly troubled. I am weary with my groaning; all night I make my bed swim. I drench my couch with my tears.” (Psalm 6:2-3a, 6)
If so, now look at what David goes on to say. “For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.” (Psalm 6:8-9a)
What we need to understand and know with all assurance is that God knows and hears our prayers, even though it may not seem like it as we go through difficult times.
Therefore, hang in there and know that God loves you and hears the voice of your cry.
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (Psalm 34:17-18)
And the writer of Hebrews gives us this assurance. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
