A Scripture and a Prayer: “Whose Your Master?”

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)

Prayer:

Lord, it all comes down to who are we going to allow to rule our lives? Will we align ourselves with worldly treasures or heavenly treasures? You tell us to store our treasures in heaven and not in this world, because where are treasure resides, there our heart will be as well. Help us, therefore, make You and Your kingdom our number one priority, and stop making allowances with this world, because in the end, we cannot serve both. We must make our choice to love You first and foremost, and then allow what You so graciously give us to serve Your purposes instead of our own. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
