Thought For Today: “Webble Faith”
Sometimes, when I think of the faith we need to live in this crazy, mixed-up world, the little egg-shaped toy, the Weeble, comes to mind.
Back in the 70s, the slogan was, “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down.” They were egg-shaped so they could wobble back and forth, but they could never fall over.
It is this type of faith that God desires, the type of faith that, while it might wobble, won’t topple over.
We see Webble’s faith in Abraham. God promised that he would be the father of many nations, yet Sarah was barren. Yet this did not topple Abraham’s faith.
The Bible says, “Against all hope…in hope (he) believed.” (Romans 4:18)
It goes on to say, “He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” (Romans 4:20-21)
We all need Weeble faith so that our current circumstances won’t topple it as well.
