We Shall Live With Christ
The conclusion of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection is that for all those who believe in Him are now dead to sin and alive in Christ, which means that they shall live with Christ throughout all eternity beginning with their acceptance and belief.
Think about it – the reality is that we shall live eternally with Him. And the really neat part is that He conquered death, once and for all, and that He rose from the dead and is alive and well at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf. This gives us complete and total assurance of our eternity.
How great is that!
Look at what Paul said in his letter to the Roman church.
“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God” (Romans 6:8-10).
Because death no longer has dominion over Jesus, therefore, it no longer has dominion over those who believe in Him. Just as Jesus rose from the dead, believers then participate in His resurrected life. Therefore, we can live in the presence of God for all eternity and it begins with our belief in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
What does this mean for us? It means that we will be living in an unbroken devotion and service to the Lord God, forever.
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” (John 5:24).
