Thought For Today: “Understanding The Times”
As David was ascending to the throne, many leaders and people from the various tribes of Israel came and swore allegiance. While they were listed out as men of valor and trained for war, there was one group who were known for their wisdom.
“The sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” (1 Chronicles 12:32)
They knew what was going on. They were given supernatural knowledge and knew the right thing to do and the right time to do it.
This same quality has been given to each believer in Jesus Christ through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth … But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” (John 14:15-17a; John 16:13a)
If you want to know what is going on in your life and the world around you, then all you need to do is ask God, and through the Holy Spirit will give you the wisdom you need.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)
Remember, you are just one ask away!
