Thought For Today: “Time to Get Stirred”

When the need is known, God begins stirring the hearts of His people to carry out His plans and purposes.

This is seen in Moses telling the people about the need to build His tabernacle.

“Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.” (Exodus 35:21)

But this is not just a message about giving; it’s also about listening to the Holy Spirit and to God’s directions for furthering His Kingdom.

When God gave Peter the vision of a great net coming down, He said to Peter, who was hesitant to follow God’s commandment, “What God has cleansed you must not call common” (Acts 10:15).

It was then that the Holy Spirit told Peter to go with men from Cornelius’s household, including a Roman centurion (Acts 10:19). As a result, Cornelius and his whole household were saved, and Peter understood that the gospel was not just for the Jewish people but for the world.

God did a great work in expanding His Kingdom because Peter’s heart was stirred and he followed God’s direction.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 2:29)
