Thought For Today: “The Way of the Spirit”
As long as the fiery coals of the Holy Spirit still glow in our lives, let’s ignite them through prayer and start following the ways God outlined in His word, instead of following the methods promoted by those who prioritize techniques over Holy Spirit guidance.
Instead of these new paths and methods, let’s return to the routes taken by our faith forefathers, such as Wesley, Whitefield, Edwards, and others.
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.’” (Jeremiah 6:16)
Instead of boasting about the number of people sitting in the pews, let’s boast in the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us as lives are forever changed by the power that works within.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20).
And let’s always remember that it is never by our might or our power, but rather through the power of the Holy Spirit, whose temple resides within every believer in Jesus Christ.
