Today’s Thought: “Sowing and Reaping”
We can’t expect big things to happen when we pray small. We can never get more out when we put so little in. We reap what we sow.
This concept of sowing and reaping can be seen in what Jesus said.
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38)
This concept is seen in the Apostle Paul’s account of our giving to the Lord, and that is, if we’re not willing to generously sow with a cheerful and purposeful heart, then we really won’t reap a godly harvest, or as Paul puts it, “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)
Paul also talks about this as our condition before the Lord.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)
And so, let’s start sowing by faith in God, so that we can then reap from God His abundance for our lives.
