Thought For Today: “Sin’s Fire Sale”

A fire sale is where items are put on sale at extremely discounted prices, and originally these heavy discounts were due to a fire that had damaged them. Now, it refers to a store that has some really hot items on sale, or the sales price for these items are sizzling hot.

Spiritually speaking, we are all in some way or another damaged due to sin, but I believe God is telling us to stop putting our souls on fire sale. That is, we are selling ourselves to Satan who is the lowest bidder.

Rather, we should be place a sign on ourselves saying, “Not for sale.” And that’s because as Christians, we’ve already been bought, and that at a great price, which is the blood Jesus shed on the cross to redeem us back unto God.

So, let’s stop selling ourselves cheap for the passing pleasures of sin.

The Apostle Paul tells us, “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
