Thought for Today: “Salt and Light”

The church needs to be the salt and light bearer God has called for it to be.

Leonard Ravenhall said, “We are so subnormal these days that the normal New Testament experience seems abnormal.”

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are called by God to bring forth His whole word, and God has called us to faithfully discharge this duty to this lost and dying world.

For the church to arise and shake the world for the Lord; it must first proclaim the truth of God’s word. The church needs to make the declaration to, “Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us God.”

The church needs to be shaken and awakened by the whole counsel of God’s word, and not what feels good. The Lord will never heal our country until the church becomes healed and becomes what God has called for it to be, the salt and light of this world (Matthew 5:13-16).
