Thought For Today: “Place Your Trust in God”

Only in God are we safe. David mistakenly trusted in his prosperity, but when reality came, he realized that he could only trust in God, and only in God was he safe.

David had come through a harrowing sickness that about took his life, and so he cried out to God and the Lord healed him.

“O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.” (Psalm 30:2-3)

There is only one sure dwelling place for our souls, and that is in the heart of God. To dwell there is to then cease trusting in anything else including self and circumstances.

“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.” (Psalm 30:11)
