Friday’s 333 Devotional: “Out and In”
Basic Truth: God brings us out of so He can bring us into.
“Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers.” (Deuteronomy 6:23)
Moses said God brought them out of their Egyptian bondage so He could bless them by giving His Law and bring them into the Land of Promise. He then told them to keep the Law so they could be blessed in this new land.
God brought us out of the darkness and into His marvelous light. This was the Apostle Peter’s summation as to why we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, His special people, so that we can “proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9b)
God has called us out of our bondage to the darkness of sin and death and into a brand-new relationship with Him, with the Promised Land of heaven as our ultimate home.
The Apostle Paul said, “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:22-23)
God brings us out of our old life, a life filled with darkness, a life filled with sin and death, and brings us into a brand-new life, a life filled with the light of God, Jesus, and brings us into eternal life in a new land, heaven.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
But for our own good and to survive God tells us to obey His word so it will go well with us. (Deuteronomy 4:40)
God brings us out of so He can bring us into.
