Thought For Today: “Our Unchanging God”

Of the Lord the Bible says, “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)

If God doesn’t change, and fulfills His promises, then why do we fail to believe Him for our lives? Yes, we believe in the God of the Bible and how He did great and mighty things, but do we believe Him and His word for our own day?

The prophet Isaiah said, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

God is not only God of the past and of the future, but He is also God of the present, that is, the God of right here and right now, and is looking for those whose hearts are steadfast and believe.

The Lord said, “I am the Lord, I do not change.” (Malachi 3:6) And of Jesus, the writer of Hebrews says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
