Thought For Today: “Our Sufficient Refuge and Strength”
No matter what is going on around us and in this world, what we always need to remember is that no matter what has happened or will happen, God is our refuge and strength amid life’s storms.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear. Even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.” (Psalm 46:1-3)
King David, who was no stranger to troubles and trials in this life, says that even in the worst disaster we can imagine, God is all-sufficient to meet whatever our need may be, so we don’t need to be terrified or afraid.
Whatever personal catastrophe we face, whether it is a major health problem, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, emotional problems, relational conflicts, or anything else, God is bigger than our problems.
Further, this also indicates that nothing takes the Lord by surprise, and there is nothing that has happened that is outside of God’s purview and knowledge.
