Thought for Today: Our Secret Life in Christ

“When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” (Matthew 6:6)

We pray in secret so that the world will see Christ in us. 

We do not pray so that others may see us and gives us kudos for being spiritual and righteous. Jesus calls that hypocritical. Rather, we pray in private so that others can see Jesus’s grace and mercy, love and compassion, expressed through us as God transforms us more and more into the image of His Son, Jesus.
