A Christmas Thought: “No Greater Love”

Christmas is known as a time for giving presents, and that might be because God gave the greatest gift of all.

In John’s Gospel, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus said in John 15:13-16, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command … You did not choose me, but I chose you.”

Paul shows us God’s great love for us through Jesus’s death, saying, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

Jesus’s death on the cross for us is the greatest message and gift of love we can ever receive. Therefore, if you can give any gift this Christmas, give this message of hope—God’s unending love.

It truly is the gift that keeps on giving, lasting for all eternity.
