Today’s Thought: “No Condemnation or Separation”
Interesting, in Romans chapter 8, Paul begins by saying that as believers in Jesus Christ, we are no longer under condemnation.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
And Paul ends this chapter by saying that we are no longer separated from God’s love.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
And the reason for both is first, we are now a part of God’s family.
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:14-16)
And second, by His foreknowledge we have been predestined to be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ.
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” (Romans 8:29-30)
Therefore, we are more than conquerors through our faith in Jesus (Romans 8:37).
