Thought For Today: “Missing Out”
A profound sadness should overwhelm us as we consider just how little humanity considers God’s word as applicable for their lives, considering it as outdated and unable to address the issues of our day.
God’s word, however, is wonderful because it lights our way and gives understanding to life’s difficult struggles.
“Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:104-105)
And even though the Bible has the answers for what plagues our world today, there are many who ignore, disparage, and dismiss it.
Therefore, we need to be like the Psalmist and cry rivers of tears because they are missing out on God’s plan and purpose for their lives, missing out on God’s grace and mercy, and in the end missing out on heaven through unbelief.
This was the Psalmist’s take saying, “Rivers of water run down from my eyes, because men do not keep Your law.” (Psalm 119:136)
