Thought For Today: “Keeping Faith”
Far too casually, we walk away from the promises of God. However, when we do not receive God’s promises, instead of persevering in faith and prayer, we move on.
And while the answer may be that the promise wasn’t for us, it may also be that the answer is our need to wait by faith.
God seeks faith and faithfulness. Jesus asked, “When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)
Remember, one day with God is like a thousand days here on earth, so God isn’t slack concerning His promises but is longsuffering with us, wishing none to perish (2 Peter 3:8-9).
So don’t give up, but persevere by faith, because God’s promises may be right around the corner. It would be a shame to miss them through unbelief.
Therefore, when we are in our prayer closets, and Jesus says, “If you can believe, all things are possible to those who believe,” let’s respond, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.”
