A Scripture and a Prayer: “If God Be For Us”

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? … It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:6, 8)

Prayer:

Lord, You say and therefore promise in Your word that if You are for us, then who can be against us, and that You are our stronghold and Your name is a strong tower that we can run to and find safety. But even further, You will never leave or forsake us, especially in our time of need. Therefore, Lord, why should we fear what someone might do, because what can anyone do to us if You are for us. So, today we choose to put our trust in You and no longer anything the world might say or promise. And in the end, may we fear You, and not man, that is, may we honor and revere Your holiness and righteousness, and stop putting our confidence in anything or anyone else. Give us the strength, therefore, to follow You. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
