Scripture and a Prayer: “Guard Your Heart and Mind”

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23)

Prayer:

Lord, we are raised to guard what is important, but rarely do we guard the most important thing, and that is our heart, and that is because everything that we do and are flows directly from the heart. Help us search our hearts and see if there is anything wicked within. Help us see what is not of You and that pulls not only us but others away from Your life giving and life affirming relationship. And finally, Lord, help us take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ, and of Your word. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
