Thoughts for Today: “Gospel Power in Action”
People aren’t waiting for some new definition of the Gospel; rather they’re waiting to see the power of the Gospel alive and making a difference in ours. Only then will they want it to make a difference within them.
The Apostle Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)
To those in Corinth, Paul said, “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” (1 Corinthians 4:20)
Paul is saying that the Kingdom of God isn’t found in our intellectual pursuits, because they hold no power, especially the power of God. Intellectual pursuits don’t produce life.
But the good news spoken and lived out in our lives is God’s power to salvation. Therefore, what are others hearing and seeing when we are present?
