Thought For Today: “God’s Immensity”

The heavens declare God’s glory, by the word of His mouth the heavens were made, and the breath of his mouth formed the stars.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1)

“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.” (Psalm 33:6)

When we think about what this is saying we are immediately introduced to the immensity of God. And yet, God desires to dwell with and within us.

“You are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’” (2 Corinthians 6:16)

Now, take a moment and let that reality sink in, especially when we start dictating what God should do!

Therefore, the Bible says, “Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.” (Ecclesiastes 5:2)
