Thought for Today: “God’s House on Earth”

God has chosen to make His home within the lives those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23)

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are now temples of the Holy Spirit.

“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own.” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

God also dwells amid His church. Jesus said where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there as well (Matthew 18:20).

As the church, we are the living stones that God’s uses to form His house where we are to minister to Him.

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5)
