Thursday Thought: “God’s High Way”
God has set a “High Way,” a way that is visible and unmistakable. It’s called the Way of Holiness.
“And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness.” (Isaiah 35:8)
But even though God has clearly marked the way we are to go, believers and the church have lost their way.
Holiness, you see, isn’t just about the externals of our faith, like morality. Instead, holiness is about being set apart of God’s purposes. While we are to be in the world, the world is not supposed to be in us.
Therefore, those on the road of holiness are not at peace with sin, and the more we grow in holiness, the more our hatred for sin will grow.
“Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.” (Psalm 119:104)
God has therefore set in His word this High Way for us to follow.
