Thought For Today: “God’s Gracious Grace”
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
In a nutshell Paul is saying that God’s grace is free, which is totally opposite of the way most people think. Most believe they can get to heaven by being good or doing their best; that somehow their good deeds outweigh the bad.
But this is completely against God’s plan of salvation. God says that it is a free gift, and if it is a gift, it cannot be earned or worked for.
Religion says that salvation and getting to heaven is based upon what a person does, whereas Christianity is based solely upon grace, which is by faith, not works.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Therefore, let God’s gracious grace overwhelm your soul and spirit as you enter into His presence through His Son, Jesus Christ.
