God’s Tweet for Today: “Godly verses Worldly Sorrow”

“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10)

Prayer:

Lord, far too often we substitute feeling sorry for what we did, but it doesn’t produce the fruit of repentance in our lives, and that is because we’re not truly sorry as to how it effects our relationship with You, but rather that we got caught, or feel bad about it, but not bad enough to stop. Therefore, help bring us to the place where it changes our hearts, and we bring to You the offering of true repentance. King David cried out saying, “For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart – these, O God, You will not despise.” May this then be our AMEN
