Thought For Today: “God Our Great Deliverer”

God helps and protects us in our times of trouble.

This was David’s prayer song as he was fleeing from his son, Absalom, who pulled off a coup against him.

Given his present circumstance and weakened position, it was believed God had abandoned David.

David talked about this in Psalm 3:2, saying, “Many are they who say of me, ‘There is no help for him in God.’”

But knowing God hears, answers, and delivers, David instead cries out, “But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” (Psalm 3:3-4)

We may think that given our present circumstances everything’s going to hell in a hand basket, God is always there to help us in our troubles. So, let’s cry out to Him because He is listening and will answer and deliver.
