Thought for Today: “God is Bigger than ‘X’ (Twitter)”

It’s amazing how much drama social media creates when it comes to God. Opinions are tossed back and forth in 140 characters or less. REALLY! How can anyone adequately explain God in as little as one sentence, or even several?

And yet we try. I’ve been in theological discussions, only to find it next to impossible. Instead, I’d rather spend what time I have reaching and ministering to those I pastor and who have contacted me for help.

The Lord said in Isaiah 55:9, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9)

God cannot be limited by social media; neither is he limited by space, time, or matter. God is beyond our thoughts, and if we can limit an unlimited God to our limited mental capacity, then He really isn’t the God of the Bible, or a God in whom we should or would want to worship.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God … I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:5)
