Today’s 333 Devotional: “God Delivers”
Why is it that every time we find ourselves in difficulty the first thing we do is to try to figure it out and fix it ourselves? Instead, we should be going to the Lord and asking for His help.
It’s time we start calling out to God and stop trying to live life on our own terms, because all we end up with is more problems.
Jesus promised that in this world we would have problems. He said, “In the world you will have tribulation.” (John 16:33)
God is pleading and inviting us to call upon Him during these times of trials. And when we do, He promises deliverance. As a result, we’re to glorify Him and bring a sacrifice of thanksgiving (Psalm 50:14, 23).
But the Lord tells us, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” (Psalm 50:15)
To Jeremiah God said, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
God is not in need of anything we can give to Him, because we are told He is the one who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and all the silver and gold of this world are His (Psalm 50:10; Haggai 2:8).
God has infinite resources and is ready to distribute them to those who ask. God is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus our Lord (Philippians 4:19).
God is ready and able to save us from trouble and is therefore inviting us to call out to Him because as Jesus said, “I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Jesus also said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
So instead of throwing up our hands up in hopeless despair, let’s instead throw up our hands to God and ask Him to help.
