Thought for Today: “God Cares”

I thought about saying, “Know God Cares,” but the problem with that is that while many of us know God cares, we just don’t believe He cares for us.

In other words, God cares for us, but this knowledge really doesn’t do any good unless we believe it. It’s like the resurrection of Jesus and our salvation. It says in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

And so, how does God care for us? We see it best in what King David, the prophet Isaiah, and the Apostle Paul tells us about how God cares for us as our Great Shepherd.

King David said, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

As our Shepherd, the Lord provides, protects, guides, and corrects.

Concerning Jesus, Isaiah said, “He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.” (Isaiah 40:11)

Therefore, the Lord provides for us through His Son, Jesus Christ, which is seen in His care.

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
