Thursday’s Thought: “Getting Unstuck”
Many believers today are feeling like they’ve stalled out in their journey of faith. They see little if any change in their situation and in this crazy mixed-up world, a world filled with disease, disaster, disappointment, and despair.
They feel as if they’ve been locked out of the presence of God due to a set of circumstances they can’t seem to shake or get themselves out of. In other words, they’re stuck in a rut, and mostly it’s a rut of their own making.
I’ve always liked what Will Rogers said about ruts. “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.”
Let me share a quick formula. Recognize that we’re stuck, be honest about it, and take it to God knowing that He is listening and will give us both the wisdom to knowledge to know what to do, and the strength, courage, and willpower, along with a big dose of grace, to help us stop spinning our wheels and get unstuck.
“Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
